The buzzer beating shot that clinched the 2006 national championship for the Texas Wesleyan Rams men basketball team was featured in a Kansas City Star article Thursday.
Ben Hunt ’07, who nailed the three-pointer as time expired in the 2006 NAIA championship game, is interviewed in the article.
“I was lucky that particular time. I made it on the first try,” Hunt said. “You’re in that moment, and at that point in time, you realize it’s the moment, and it’s time to hit it.”
The NAIA celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. The Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship tips off at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo., March 14-20. The NAIA will roll out one top tournament moment each day leading up to the tournament.
