Most fairytales end with “happily ever after,” but that is not the case for this group of storybook characters in the Theatre Wesleyan musical, Into the Woods. Giants, witches, princes and a slew of fairytale figures come together for a dark and tumultuous journey through the woods in hopes of finding their happy ending.
The show, which features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, will be directed by alumnus Ben Phillips. Theatre Wesleyan’s 59th annual musical runs April 18-21 in the Thad Smotherman Theatre in the Law Sone Fine Arts Building, located on the Texas Wesleyan campus at the corner of Binkley St. and Avenue E. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
