The fall semester is setting in and you’re in need of places to study. But first, coffee. How about a local spot to celebrate National Coffee Day on Sept. 29? Here are our top 5 picks to grab a cup (or two):

• What to order: You can’t go wrong with a classic espresso or latte made with their artisan micro-roasted coffee, but their new cold brews will definitely add some kick to your afternoon. Get there early to order some breakfast tacos from Taco Heads.
• Vibe: Authentic and artsy, usually featuring work from local artists, it’s generally a popular study space.

2. Brewed

801 W. Magnolia Ave.

• What to order: Take your friends and get a shared press pot or treat yourself to a Candy Bar Latte. If you’re feeling adventurous – check out the coffee soda or the seasonal Holy Kombucha on tap. Bonus points for their large food menu.
• Vibe: The locals living room. This is a comfortable space to relax and focus with plenty of room to sit outside around a fire pit.

3. Craftwork

1211 W. Magnolia Ave. or 4731 Camp Bowie Blvd.

• What to order: Espresso, cortado, cappuccino… they have it all, and everything is locally roasted in the historic O.B. Macaroni building in the heart of Fort Worth.
• Vibe: Friendly, light and inspiring with a dedicated shared workspace. Both locations have great resources for collaborative work, which makes this the place to get some things accomplished.

4. Mudsmith

817 Matisse Dr. #445 (Off West 7^th near Chuy’s)

• What to order: Aside from the standard coffee fares, they offer up some unique drinks and juices that will keep you coming back. Check out their specialty espressos or treat yourself to a Nola Style shaved ice.
• Vibe: Warm, industrial and a bit exotic (check out the taxidermy). This is a quiet escape to the bustling West 7^th area and a unique place to study.

5. Buon Giorno

915 Florence St. (just west of downtown Fort Worth)

• What to order: Choose from their wide range of Italian inspired specialty drinks or their handcrafted espressos.
• Vibe: Influenced by the historic European coffee houses, this space has a comfortable and inviting sense of community. 

And, as always, you can grab a cup of joe on campus at Dora’s or in the West Library on the first floor.
