Texas Wesleyan University ranks in the top 7 percent of Texas colleges and universities for students getting the greatest lifetime return on investment.
According to AffordableCollegesOnline.org (AC Online), which analyzed 452 institutions, 49 schools in Texas achieved the top ranking. Graduates from these institutions, which represent 11 percent of those analyzed, earn the most over non-degreed workers over a period of 30 years. They also earn more on average than graduates of other Texas schools.
"Texas Wesleyan offers a top-tier, private education at an affordable price," President Frederick G. Slabach said. "It is gratifying to see that our graduates can expect a strong return on their investment for years to come.
"We see our alumni succeeding and leading every day, so it is not surprising that the data reflects what we know to be true," he said.
To be ranked among the top schools for return on investment, institutions could be either private or public and must be fully accredited, four-year colleges that grant degrees. PayScale’s 2013 College Value Report is also considered. In addition, AC Online uses multiple data sets to examine the criteria and determine rankings.
Earlier this year, U.S. News & World Report ranked Texas Wesleyan in the top tier of regional universities in the west for the third consecutive year. The Graduate Programs of Nurse Anesthesia and the part-time law program were listed among the "Best Grad Schools" for 2014.
For three years running, Texas Wesleyan has also been named a Military-Friendly University.
