Among the standout performers at the 2024 NCTTA College Table Tennis Championships was Texas Wesleyan Table Tennis, which clinched championship titles in the men's and women's team events and several individual accolades.
The event, held from April 12 to 14 by The National Collegiate Table Tennis Association in collaboration with the Visit Eau Claire CVB, drew over 250 top college table tennis players from more than 50 different institutions and saw intense competition as athletes vied for national titles in singles, doubles, and team events. Both the Texas Wesleyan's women’s and men's teams displayed exceptional skill and teamwork.
The men’s team, comprised of Eduardo Tomoike, Jonatan McDonald, Senura Silva, Santiago Montes, Derron Douglas, Thiago Uieda, Lucas Eto, Nicholas Yamane, and Heitor Buscariolo, claimed the top spot. The women's team from Texas Wesleyan, led by Zhen Deng, Jiaqi Lin, Sofija Šćepanović, and Yuqi Shao, secured the championship title.
Deng and Lin showcased their dominance by clinching the women's singles and doubles titles, respectively. Adding to their impressive performance, Texas Wesleyan's Jonatan McDonald and Santiago Montes claimed the silver medal in the men's doubles event, while Eduardo Tomoike and Senura Silva secured bronze. McDonald also earned an individual bronze in the men's singles category, while Jiaqi Lin rounded off the team's achievements with a bronze in the women's singles competition.
