Texas Wesleyan University Announces Campus Closure Beginning Friday Evening

Texas Wesleyan University continues to closely monitor weather forecasts calling for a mix of snow and ice, along with sustained below-freezing temperatures, beginning Friday night and continuing through the weekend. To prioritize the safety of students, faculty, and staff, the University has outlined the following operational plan:
- Friday: Campus will close beginning at 6 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday: Campus will remain closed.
- Monday: Campus operations are under review. A final decision regarding Monday operations will be communicated at approximately 7 p.m. on Sunday, based on evolving conditions and forecast updates from the National Weather Service Fort Worth and additional emergency information partners.
During any closure period, the following expectations apply:
- Faculty should follow their established inclement weather instructional plans.
- Staff may work remotely, contingent upon infrastructure availability, or should coordinate directly with their supervisor regarding individual expectations.
- Students should continue to monitor their Texas Wesleyan email and official University channels for instructional and operational updates.
- Students living on campus will receive additional information from Residence Life regarding dining hours at Dora’s and other student support services. Students with questions are encouraged to contact their resident assistant.
The University will continue monitoring conditions closely, including impacts to travel safety and campus operations. All official updates will be communicated through Texas Wesleyan email and text messaging, as well as the University website and social media platforms.
The safety of the Texas Wesleyan community remains the University’s top priority. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to remain weather-aware and make the best decisions for their personal safety as conditions evolve.
