The safety and well-being of our students are of the utmost importance at Texas Wesleyan University. After conducting meetings with faculty, staff, students and alumni, an overwhelming majority of the campus constituents were in favor of remaining a weapon-free campus. Therefore, Texas Wesleyan University opts out of the Campus Carry Law (Senate Bill 11). Licensed handgun holders are not allowed to carry a handgun on university property.
This policy goes into effect Aug. 1, 2016.
Signs are posted across campus informing students, faculty, staff and visitors that Texas Wesleyan opts out of Senate Bill 11 and does not allow handguns on campus.
