Texas Wesleyan Head Football Coach Joe Prud’homme and his coaching staff are on the hunt for football talent in Texas.
They are hosting a combine and open tryouts from 2 – 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 22 at L.D. Bell High School in Hurst. The event is open to all high school students in the class of 2016 and 2017, as well as any collegiate student with eligibility remaining.
“Registration is filling up fast and it’s exciting to see the student athletes we’re attracting to our program,” Coach Prud’homme said. “We are looking for tough players that are ready to prove they have what it takes to be a Ram.”
Participants will be measured physically and evaluated by the Texas Wesleyan coaching staff through a series of drills.
Registration for the event is $50. The fee covers the cost of the day and includes an exclusive combine t-shirt and shorts made by Adidas for participants. Students who are already accepted to Texas Wesleyan will get a 50 percent discount on their registration fee.
Texas Wesleyan announced earlier this year that it is reinstating its football program after a 75-year hiatus. The university is currently recruiting a leadership class to begin in Fall 2016. The class will scrimmage in Spring 2017 and play their first games in Fall 2017.
