Yue Wu to represent USA in World Championships
USA Table Tennis held the first US National Ranking Tournament in Ohio over the weekend. Texas Wesleyan University's Jennifer Yue Wu won the women's draw and secured a spot on Team USA for the 2018 World Championships.
Wu, who was an Olympian in 2016, will once again represent Team USA in the upcoming World Table Tennis championships in Halmstad, Sweden.
The women's competition at the National Ranking Tournament was a 12-player round robin. Wu was the second highest rated player in the draw behind Lily Zhang. She ripped through the group going 10-1 including nine 4-0 victories. Zhang also went 9-1 in the round robin, but in their head-to-head match, Wu prevailed 4-2.
Wu is the sixth Ram to be a member of Team USA joining Jasna Rather, Eric Owens, Mark Hazinski, Yahao Zhang, and Jim Butler.
The Rams will compete in the NCTTA National Championships April 18-22 in Round Rock, TX. Texas Wesleyan has won 65 National Championships in Table Tennis including 13 Coed Team titles and seven Women's Team titles.
