Dennis Hall appointed dean of students
Dennis Hall has been named dean of students at Texas Wesleyan after serving as the interim dean for eight weeks.
In his role, Hall will continue to oversee residence life, student life, the Morton Fitness Center and the University health center. Hall comes to Texas Wesleyan with nine years of experience in higher education, including five years as assistant director, dean of students at the University of North Texas.
"Dennis' previous experience in higher education has been a tremendous asset to our students and our entire campus," Pati Alexander, vice-president of enrollment and student services, said. "We will continue to benefit from his remarkable leadership capabilities and ability to advocate for our students."
About the Dean
Hall has a keen knowledge of student conduct and safety issues, and strong experience in identifying and responding to emergency and crisis situations.
While at UNT, Hall was responsible for overseeing these issues while keeping a focus on supporting students' integrity and well-being. He also helped supervise the campus Substance Abuse Resource Center, revised and updated the Student Code of Conduct, supervised training and conduct issues in relation to the Clery Act, Title IX and FERPA and created and chaired the Drug and Alcohol Education Taskforce.
Prior to serving as UNT's assistant director, dean of students, Hall was head hall director for UNT housing and residence life. His higher education experience began at Central Washington University where he served as residence hall coordinator.
Hall has a bachelor's degree in political science from Oregon State University and a master's in education with an emphasis in student affairs administration from UNT. Hall is currently pursuing a doctor of philosophy in higher education at UNT.
