Mortar Board marches out hunger with month-long food drive

Mortar Board (Seniors) is excited to jumpstart the March Out Hunger Food Drive for the Tarrant Area Food Bank and the Don’t Forget to Feed Me Pet Food Bank. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to participate in this month-long food drive. Supporters can drop off their boxed or canned food donations and pet supplies in the Office of Student Life.
“The Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) is the primary source of donated food for hunger-relief charities and feeding programs in 13 North Texas counties,” according to the TAFB website. The non-profit organization helps feed 53,000 households every month.
Most requested food items for the TAFB:
- Canned meats (tuna, chicken, ham, etc.)
- Dried beans
- Boxed pastas
- Boxed or canned soups and juices
- Canned fruits and vegetables
- Cereal
- Rice
- Peanut butter (no glass jars)
