PREP is a seven-week, mathematics-based, academic enrichment program emphasizing the development of abstract reasoning and problem-solving skills.
PREP helps students prepare for careers in the fields of mathematics, science, technology and engineering. The program includes coursework, team projects, class presentations, examinations, career awareness speakers, field trips and special events.
PREP is presented over the course of three summers in which the students reapply each year. High school elective credit is awarded by Texas Educating Agency for each summer of PREP completed and passed.
Students in the 7th - 10th grades are eligible if they have the interest and potential for careers in mathematics, technology, science or engineering. Minority students and women are especially encouraged to apply.
June 8 - July 17, 2020. Approximately six hours per day plus homework.
TexPREP is offered all over the state of Texas at various college and university campuses. Here in Fort Worth, it is offered at Texas Wesleyan University.
The services of TexPREP are free to the students. Students will receive free lunch during the program.
