The ASC grammar police are on campus: Are your words safe?
Do you find yourself correcting the tweets and text messages from your friends?
Are you always silently correcting others when they speak to you?
Now is your chance to take action.
The Academic Success Center is on a mission to help students communicate effectively in their courses. Proper usage of grammar and punctuation makes a difference in how effectively you can communicate your ideas with others. After all, don't you want people to take your ideas seriously?
Our tutors are on the lookout for grammar offenses. Students are invited to participate as well. Just take a picture of any offense you see and bring it to the ASC. We will be posting all the offenses with an explanation of why it is wrong.
What do you gain besides useful knowledge and better communication skills? Each time you bring a grammar error picture to the ASC, your name is entered into a drawing. The reward is a Texas Wesleyan goodie bag filled with a T-shirt and other items.
The contest runs through Feb. 27.
