Do you find yourself staring into space dreaming of spring break?

Instead of studying for your test, do you decide to take a nap?

Are you the student in the residence hall who is constantly distracting everyone on your hall?

You are definitely suffering from the mid-semester slump. This is a difficult time in the semester, but don't give up. You may find it hard to stay motivated but have no fear; the Academic Success Center is here to help.

Five tips for conquering the mid-semester slump:

  1. Change what is not working. Invest a little time to reflect on how you are studying and approaching your classes. It may be that you are studying the wrong way for your learning style.
  2. Create realistic to-do lists every day. Make it a point to complete the list each day.
  3. Post small goals in visible places to keep you focused.
  4. Find an accountability partner to ensure you complete your to-do lists. Choose a friend that you know will help you achieve your goals.
  5. Visit the pros. Meet with your professor, schedule a tutoring appointment or meet with Alex, Student Success Coordinator.

Remember, the Academic Success Center is available to help you be successful.
