The School of Arts and Letters at Texas Wesleyan established the Distinguished Alumni Awards Program in 2013.

The purpose of this annual award is to recognize outstanding alumni for their individual achievements, contributions to their fields or professions, service to their community and demonstrated loyalty to the university.
