School of Arts & Sciences plant flowers at PUMC
In celebration of spring and Earth Day, the School of Arts & Sciences came together to plant flowers in the brick boxes in front of the PUMC building. Dr. Ohan came up with the idea to promote comradery amongst faculty as well as to help beautify the campus. What a perfect way to get outside to enjoy the beautiful spring weather and to help make the PUMC building look better! Many volunteers came up on their day off to help and some even learned to plant for the first time.
Jaylon Leonard, one of the student volunteers, said, “We had fun and I was excited to learn more about gardening.”
Tamika Johnson, coordinator to the dean, helped Dr. Ohan plan the event, and Dr. Matthews helped design the layout. Everyone had a good time, students were engaged, and we all pitched in to help beautify the campus, even Tamika’s four-legged friend LJ helped out!
