Dr. Stegman's HIS 4318 Public History class toured the Ball-Eddleman-McFarland House on Nov. 9.  The cattle baron-era home is headquarters of Historic Fort Worth, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving Fort Worth’s unique historic identity through stewardship, education and leadership. The tour of the home as well as the organization's Preservation Resource Center was conducted by Joanne Barron, a 2017 Texas Wesleyan history graduate who is now an employee.

Ms. Barron spoke about the organization's efforts to save endangered structures in Fort Worth and the Preservation Resource Center's services. Students were also treated to a glimpse of Fort Worth's history through the examination of the center's Sandborn Map collection.

Texas Wesleyan's course in public history allows history majors to explore the different methods used by historians in the field of public history, including archives, museums and oral history.
