Music student Cordry "Cord" Wiley has been awarded the prestigious Collegiate Music Educator Award from the Texas Music Educators Association. This award, only given to the finest and most dedicated future music educators across the state, is an indication of quality for those looking to hire outstanding new teachers. Qualifications include a 3.5 or better GPA and the candidate providing non-mandatory music instruction or being otherwise significantly involved in the local music education community.

Wiley, an exemplary music education student in the final semester of his degree, has more than proven his dedication during his time at Texas Wesleyan. He has been involved in Kappa Kappa Psi, a music-based service fraternity as an officer and was a student worker in the music department.

Dr. Paul Sikes, head of instrumental music studies at Texas Wesleyan, says, "Cordry is a wonderful student and very much deserving of this recognition.
