The Department of Music is conducting a composition contest starting March 28 to May 2. There are two categories: Solo Instrument and Chamber Music Piece. To enter, you must include at least one of the following: violin, viola, cello or bass, and you must either be a current TXWES student or committed to enrolling. The winners will have their piece played in the Fall 2022 Chamber Ensemble Concert, as well as receive a cash award.

Solo Instrument

• 1st Place: $250
• 2nd Place: $150

Can be with or without a piano accompaniment

Chamber Music Piece

• 1st Place: $250
• 2nd Place: $150

Must feature at least two instruments, or three if a piano is involved

IMPORTANT

• Scores and midi files must have NO NAMES or any sort of identification on them
• They may only contain the title of the work
