We’re thrilled to announce that under the leadership of student president Hunter Wilson, faculty advisor Dr. Heida Reed and Vice President Ashley Bynum, along with officers Ruby O’Brien and Dulce Langston, Texas Wesleyan University’s Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) chapter has once again been awarded the prestigious “Highest Honors” status for the 2023-2024 academic year!
Only 50 BGS chapters worldwide received this top distinction out of more than 600 chapters globally. This places our chapter among the top 8% of BGS chapters internationally—a true mark of excellence in academic achievement, leadership and professional development.
The “Highest Honors” status, awarded by Beta Gamma Sigma, celebrates chapters that exemplify extraordinary engagement, academic achievement and dedication to fostering leadership and professional growth among members. Beta Gamma Sigma, the international honor society for AACSB-accredited business programs, extends membership to the top 10% of undergraduate and top 20% of graduate students in business, symbolizing an elite level of commitment to excellence.
Throughout the 2023-2024 academic year, Dr. Reed, Wilson and the officer team led our chapter in organizing impactful initiatives and events, including tailgate gatherings and community engagement programs. These activities fostered a vibrant chapter community and strengthened Texas Wesleyan’s dedication to developing future business leaders. The chapter’s commitment to these efforts played a crucial role in securing the “Highest Honors” designation once again.
This dual recognition, achieved previously in 2017-2018 and now in 2023-2024, reflects Texas Wesleyan’s ongoing dedication to academic and professional excellence. The outstanding leadership of Hunter Wilkins, the dedicated guidance of Dr. Reed and the contributions of Vice President Ashley Bynum and officers Ruby O’Brien and Dulce Langston have been instrumental in the chapter’s continued success and its standing as one of the top Beta Gamma Sigma chapters in the country.
Congratulations to our remarkable members and leadership team for bringing this honor home to Texas Wesleyan!
