GPNA’s pass rate for CRNA certification exams beats national average
Texas Wesleyan University’s Graduate Programs of Nurse Anesthesia received notification from the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs (COA) that the 2015-2016 pass rate for first-time takers of the Nurse Anesthesia Certification Examination was 90 percent. The preferred pass rate is 80 percent of all first-time takers in a testing period and the national pass rate was 84.5 percent.
“Texas Wesleyan University’s consistent performance above the national pass rate for first-time takers of the Certification Examination is evidence of the commitment of our students, faculty and staff to excellence,” said Heidi Taylor, Ph.D., RN, NC-BC, HN-BC, professor dean of the School of Health Professions, said.
Since 1982, Texas Wesleyan's Graduate Programs of Nurse Anesthesia have lead the way in training RNs to become fully qualified Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Texas Wesleyan’s graduate program in nurse anesthesia is the largest in the nation, and qualifies more than 100 students each year.
