Texas Wesleyan welcomed 108 new residents from the Class of 2027. For the second year in a row, these residents participated in team building in a fun, new way. Residents were getting to know each other and becoming familiar with the city of Fort Worth. They chose activities based on their interests which included the Fort Worth Zoo, tours of the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, a trip to a coffee brewery, museums and pottery painting.
The deliverable for the outing was a reflection related to the Professional Aspects class, which is taken in the first semester of the program. Meeting classmates from the first week in the program with a common interest is known to speed up and strengthen relationships, which undoubtedly leads to greater program success. Student evaluations from last year strongly encouraged the continuation of the new team-building process.
