Summary of the roles of the Board:

• Review/approve proposed contract
• Amend performance contract
• Appoint LAN Senior Officer
• Appoint Steering Committee members
• Delegate authority as appropriate to staff and Steering Committee
• Designate Board member to liaise with Steering Committee onregular basis
• Approve annual plans and budgets
• Adopts policies
• Complies with state and federal regulation relative to LAN operations

Summary of the Steering Committee's roles:

• Serve as forum for public comments
• Provide content expertise to guide implementation
• Report/recommend to TXWES staff and Board
• Reports as needed to FWISD
• Regularly monitor school performance
• Hear grievances that escalate, and make recommendations to the Dean on next steps
• Dean of School of Education serves as ex officio member
