Underwater graduation returns to Texas Wesleyan May 17
It’s the only graduation ceremony that trades in a cap and gown for a wetsuit.
Students, faculty and staff are invited to watch this year’s SCUBA minor underwater graduation at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 17 at the Sid Richardson Center pool. Getting “finned and pinned” - the underwater graduation equivalent of moving the tassel over - is Zackary Lanham, a criminal justice major from Arlington.
“Zack said a Texas Wesleyan recruiter came to his school and talked about the SCUBA minor and the underwater graduation,” Pam Rast, Ph.D., professor of athletic training and kinesiology department chair, said. “That’s when he decided that he wanted to come to TXWES.”
We hope you’ll join us to see this “Smaller. Smaller.” and wetter way to graduate.
