TXWES Behind The Scenes: Theatre Wesleyan is set for July 30 and you won’t want to miss this night of fun as we take a look into our amazing theatre program.
We’re got quite the lineup of staff, faculty and students to show you all the hard work that goes into each and every one of their shows. Check out these students we’ll be featuring at the event:
Taylor Allen, Junior
BFA, Design and Technology
Favorite Theatre Wesleyan show: “Avenue Q where I was the master electrician.”
Favorite memory: “The Mr. Burns camping trip we went on in September. Good food, good fun. It allowed me to get close with some of my newer classmates.”
Lauren Garza, Senior
BFA, Design and Technology
Favorite Theatre Wesleyan show: “They are both very different but it’s a tie between Smokefall as the stage manager and Avenue Q in which I played Lucy.”
Favorite memory: “My favorite memory so far was going to the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. It was amazing!”
Darin Martin, Senior
BFA, Musical Theatre
Favorite Theatre Wesleyan show: “I loved playing Rod in Avenue Q.”
Favorite memory: “Watching Bryan Stevenson, Director and Department Chair, demonstrate to me the proper way to climb on the deck of a ship menacingly during a rehearsal for Mr. Burns. Lots of laughing ensued.”
Julissa Norment, Junior

Favorite Theatre Wesleyan show: “Avenue Q where I played Gary Coleman.”
Favorite memory: “It’s a tie between going camping as a rehearsal for Mr. Burns and doing the lighting design for Second Samuel.”
Skylar Peters, Senior

Favorite Theatre Wesleyan show: “In Spring Awakening I played Wendla and that was the best.”
Favorite memory: “Working a lot closer with Connie on my playwriting, and growing in my art next to some of my closest friends.”
Colin Schwartz, Sophomore

Favorite Theatre Wesleyan show: “Second Samuel where I was the assistant master electrician.”
Favorite memory: “Working in the theatre late at night the day before the tech rehearsal of Second Samuel.”
