Meet Krysta White and Selena Gallegos-Pittman, two alumni scholarship recipients
Each year, the Alumni Association offers scholarships to legacy students (students who are family of TXWES alumni). Funds raised by the Alumni Association throughout the year help support these scholarships. Read more about two of the deserving students who received the alumni scholarship for the 2022-23 school year.
Krysta White is a junior chemistry major and daughter of a Texas Wesleyan graduate. Krysta chose TXWES for the top-notch softball and science programs and its close proximity to home. She also wanted a small school that would allow her to get more one-on-one attention from her professors. Krysta, who plays on the softball team, said, “Transferring here was the best decision I ever made. I can now spend more time with my family, and earn a chemistry degree with professors who know me personally.” She is also happy to be able to spend time coaching softball in the Fort Worth area. She loves the small, friendly community that Texas Wesleyan provides. Congratulations Krysta!
Selena Gallegos-Pittman is a psychology major who chose Texas Wesleyan because of the charming campus and the smaller classes. Selena credits TXWES for helping her “come out of her shell.” On campus she is a supplemental instructor and will be applying for Psi Chi membership. Selena says that her favorite thing about being a TXWES student is, “the sense of community that I feel and knowing that my professors are here to help students." "Two of my professors call me ‘psychologist’ and ‘forensic psychology,’ because they know that’s my career path! Since classes are small and in-person at TXWES, I am able to share my ideas, ask or answer questions, and engage in class discussions which is something I love about college.” Congratulations Selena!
