Announcement
Sunday, Oct. 8
On Fri., Oct 6, Texas Wesleyan experienced a network disruption that will impact the functionality and access of certain university systems. The university is working closely with its dedicated IT personnel and specialized professionals to restore internet service and access to online systems to the campus.
At this time, we anticipate certain systems will remain offline through the early part of next week. Access to email, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Canvas and other cloud-hosted applications should be available from off-campus locations or personal cellular service while on campus.
Access to Colleague, Network File Shares, VPN and other on-campus resources are expected to remain offline until further notice. Although phone service, door access and security cameras do not currently appear to be impacted, it is possible these resources will also be temporarily unavailable for on-campus locations.
Due to these unforeseen circumstances and the impact this has to the learning environment and university operations, Texas Wesleyan University has decided to close tomorrow, Oct. 9. The closure will allow IT to address the disruption and perform necessary work on campus. It is also intended to minimize inconvenience to the campus community during that process. Please be mindful of IT's time and resources over the next few days and only contact them regarding urgent matters.
Please continue to monitor our official website, social media channels and university email for further updates and instructions. We will provide any necessary information regarding the reopening of campus or any additional changes as soon as they become available.
Staff are encouraged to reach out to their supervisors if they have questions about the impact on department planning. Faculty should contact their dean or program director with any questions and students should contact the Office of Student Affairs.
Your understanding and cooperation during this time are greatly appreciated. We value each member of our RAMily and want to ensure that everyone remains informed.
