This presentation will focus on proactive (intrusive) advising.  A truly effective academic advisor recognizes that advising is much more than helping a student select the appropriate classes.  We will discuss best practices for proactive advising and identify the many resources on campus that can help a faculty member become a better advisor.  This presentation is primarily designed for faculty that are relatively new to advising, but all faculty are welcome to come and share their experiences.
