Sign up this month to participate in a CETL and QEP book club featuring bell hooks' Teaching Critical Thinking: Practical Wisdom.
The book club will have its first of three meetings at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, in the West Library Conference room. Dates for the other meetings will be decided by the group. Participants will also have an option to attend virtually.
Teaching Critical Thinking: Practical Wisdom was chosen to explore critical thinking within the context of diversity. The book, composed of over thirty "teachings", offers insight about topics on race, gender, and class. Hooks invites the reader to critically evaluate their instructional practices in order to facilitate a true education for all students. The first four participants to register will receive a free copy of the book.
