Adjunct professor David Tripp recognized for talents outside the classroom

The CETL staff wants to recognize Dr. David Tripp, adjunct professor of religion and history at Texas Wesleyan University, not only for all of his time at the CETL designing his class, but also to congratulate him for being chosen as artist in residence for Texas A&M University Corpus Christi this summer.
Tripp will reside alone for 10 days on an island in the Laguna Madre, a 25-minute trip out into the gulf. His assignment is to watercolor en plein air his surroundings on the island, as well as keep a journal, post daily blogs and present a one-man show of his work.
Dr. Tripp and the CETL
Tripp, who also teaches art history and philosophy at Martin High School in Arlington, began visiting the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning in fall 2014 seeking course design help for his online class. His passion for teaching is evident and his dedication to improving his class is remarkable.
He frequently works with CETL Director Lisa Hammonds to improve his course in order to create the best user experience for his students.
Tripp has created quite a collection of watercolors. He sells some of his pieces locally and occasionally has exhibits. If you are interested, be sure to check out his blog.
