CETL wraps up fall, looks forward to spring events

12.16.2013 | By:

Fall 2013 sure did come and go quickly! We would like to thank everyone who participated in the CETL workshops and events. We would like to take a moment to highlight the following Faculty and Staff for being leaders on the leaderboard and earning numerous badges:

  • Dr. Gladys Childs
  • Dr. Julie Vowell
  • Dr. Kalpana Pai
  • Rudy Leonard
  • Elizabeth Ward

The leaderboard resets on Dec. 20 for the spring 2014 semester. We know this is the last week before the break, but if you still want to stop by for individual consultations or just to say hello/have a cup of hot cocoa we will be in our office.

The CETL office will open for the spring semester on Jan. 6. Workshops starts on Jan. 9. We have some exciting things planned for the Spring:

  • Workshops this semester will be held Tuesday thru Friday with two workshops being offered daily. The entire list of workshops can we found on the Texas Wesleyan Events Page or on the CETL website.

  • Guest speaker, Christina Robinowitz, facilitating Effective Intercultural Communications workshop on Jan. 13 (Yes, you get points towards your Teaching Int'l Students Badge for participating). Lunch is provided.

  • Book Club will be reading and discussing Clay Skirky's Cognitive Surplus: How Technology Makes Consumers into Collaborators. Sign up today to receive your free copy of the book. Meetings bi-weekly at the CETL office or via Google Hangout. Start date tbd.

If we don’t see each other this week, the CETL staff wishes you a wonderful break, happy holidays, and we look forward to seeing you in the new year!

Cheers!
