Hello faculty and staff—

It’s flu shot time!

Star Wellness will be here on September 3rd from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. and again during our health fair on October 31st.

Please use this link to schedule an appointment for September 3rd: https://starwellnessusa.com/twu/

The flu shot clinic will be hosted in the DuBose Executive Boardroom in the Martin University Center.

From Star Wellness:

Bring your insurance card.  If you bring a copy of your insurance card and driver’s license it will make the check-in process go faster.  Flu and Tetanus (TDAP) shots are covered 100% by insurance.  Tetanus shots are good for 7-10 years so they recommend it be at least 5 years since your last Tetanus shot, unless you are going to be around a newborn.

Star Wellness is in-network with all the major insurance carriers so they can accept most insurance.  They cannot accept Ambetter, Medicaid, Tricare, Molina Healthcare, EPO plans, or any Scott & White. They do not provide the high-dose formula for seniors.  Children must be at least 8 years of age and have had a flu shot before.

Their discounted cash pay price for quadrivalent flu shots (all four strains) is $50 (instead of $60+ at the pharmacy), TDAP is $80.

Vitamin B12 shots are $25 and Lipotropic shots are $35.  There is already a full dose of B12 in the Lipotropic shot so you do not need both.  They will also have Vitamin D shots available for $25.  Vitamin injections are not covered by insurance, however, they accept cash, debit/credit cards and FLEX/HSA cards.

Additional information regarding the flu shot can be found on the CDC website here: https://www.cdc.gov/flu/business/
