Polytechnic United Methodist Church is inviting all Texas Wesleyan University faculty, alumni, staff and students to its annual Lessons & Carols event, scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, in its main sanctuary.
Bring your friends and family to this free holiday event, followed by a reception in Bragan Fellowship Hall.
Lessons & Carols has been a long-running event at the 123-year-old church, but this year’s event is wider in its scope than previous years; it is the result of collaboration among Meadowbrook, Handley, St. Matthew Methodist Churches and Ridglea Christian Church.
Combined choirs from these area churches will sing A Celebration of the Carols by Joseph M. Martin. The singers will be be accompanied by a professional orchestra.
Lessons & Carols celebrates the beginning of Advent and is a great way to invest in the local community and share the musical gifts of the season with friends and family.
Poly UMC has been closely associated with Texas Wesleyan throughout the University’s 125-year history. Together with the recently relocated Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church, East Rosedale St. is fast becoming a center for Methodism in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
