A small group of business students talked banking with real experts – Tim Carter, president and CEO of OmniAmerican Bank, and members of his team – at the bank’s Fort Worth headquarters Feb. 23.
Carter, a Texas Wesleyan Board of Trustees member, and Senior Vice Presidents Shannon Bettis and Ken Searle discussed modern banking issues – from federal regulations to the advantages of smaller, local banks – with the group of nearly 20, which included students from Delta Mu Delta and the accounting society.
“It was great because we were able to ask questions,” Susie Ortega, junior business major, said, “and talking with Shannon afterward made me consider some new ideas – I enjoyed the perspective of a smaller bank.”
