Each fall, the men’s golf hosts the O.D. Bounds Golf Classic, a tournament named after O.D. Bounds, Jr., ’41, a beloved Texas Wesleyan faculty member, coach, volunteer and friend. Bounds, pictured at center, had 40-year career of teaching and coaching. During his tenure as head coach, the golf team won three national titles. Throughout its history, the men’s golf program has six wins and a record 10 runner-up finishes in 52 appearances at the NAIA National Championships. The team held the top spot in the NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Top 25 Poll for the entire 2013 season.
