Texas Wesleyan University's Jose Rolz tied for 44th at the inaugural Latin American Amateur Championship on Jan. 18.

Rolz was one of six players competing for Guatemala. Two of his countrymen, Daniel Gurtner and Sebastian Barnoya, also made the cut, finishing T24 and T27 respectively.
Rolz was a first-team NAIA All-American selection last season. He held the lead entering the final round before placing third at the 2014 NAIA National Championships. This season he notched a victory at Texas A&M Commerce's Classic at the Tribute and third at Lawrence Tech's Kohler Classic at Whistling Straits. He currently holds a scoring average of 73.43 for the season and 73.68 for his career.
