Please join us for the next Mitchell-Reid Community of Learners Nov. 17 at the West Library 12:15 pm. Our Presenter will be Dr. Weddle Irons and she will be discussing deconstructing Christian popular culture. 

Drawing on her recently published book, If Eve Only Knew (Chalice Press, 2015), Dr. Weddle Irons illumines a host of artifacts popularized by conservative groups. From the P 31 Woman to purity rings and bears‌to Waiting for Boaz Facebook groups and Christian spanking (Domination) websites, these efforts, Kendra claims, are intended to control women and are not—in reality—biblical.
