Student Government & Black Student Assoc. collect more than 500 books for drive
The Student Government Association and the Black Student Association worked together on a book drive for Fort Worth elementary school students.
The two groups collected 563 books for students at D. McRae, S.S. Dillow and Meadowbrook Elementary Schools.
“The drive was incredibly successful. It was amazing to see how happy the kids were when we delivered the books,” Lexi Barlow, SGA representative, said. “I think the book drive was a wonderful opportunity to connect Texas Wesleyan with the community.”
SGA and BSA focused on helping schools in the TXWES community. Each school is less than a 10-minute drive from campus. Barlow and fellow SGA representative Conner Parish delivered the books a few days before spring break.
