Faculty: Submit your Sam Taylor grant applications by Aug. 3
Full-time Texas Wesleyan faculty are eligible, and encouraged, to apply for up to $2,000 for a Sam Taylor Fellowship. The deadline for submission is Aug. 3.
The funds are available through the Division of Higher Education of the United Methodist General Board of Higher Education.Awards are limited and competitive. Last year, 15 of the 17 Wesleyan applicants were successful.
Fellowships may be used for continuing education and development of faculty members. Allowable activities include:
- Tuition and other expenses incurred in academic work leading to a graduate degree or significant postgraduate study
- Expenses incurred in researching or writing a thesis for a terminal degree
- Expenses for a research project which advances the intellectual, social or religious life in Texas and the nation
Applications require a one-page vita, a brief description of the project, a detailed budget with narrative, a one-half page project synopsis and a letter of recommendation and endorsement from both the applicant's dean and the President of the University.
