Texas Wesleyan Athletics has made the decision to cancel this Saturday’s football game.
On Sunday, Nov. 8, after the team returned home from a road game in Arizona, a Texas Wesleyan student-athlete reported having symptoms of COVID-19. That player was tested and that test came back positive today, Monday, Nov. 9.
In addition, 13 students and three coaches have started a required 14-day quarantine due to their close contact with the student per our health and safety guidelines. Because of the number of students and coaches that need to be in quarantine, the decision was made to cancel the game.
This Saturday’s game will not be rescheduled, as it was the final game on our fall schedule. This marks the end of the fall football season with plans to resume in the spring, as long as it is safe for everyone involved.
For those who purchased tickets, we are working with our ticketing company to process refunds and we appreciate your understanding and patience as we finalize those plans.
