Are you ready for basketball season? The wait is almost over, and Texas Wesleyan is throwing a party to celebrate.
"Midnight Madness" is coming to the Sid Richardson center on Saturday, Oct. 25, and in addition to seeing the men's and women's basketball teams practice for the first time, fans are going to be treated to giveaways, music, a slam dunk competition and more. Doors open for the event at 10:30 p.m., and teams will hit the court at 11 p.m.
President Slabach to sing
This year we will have a special treat for attendees. Texas Wesleyan's very own President Frederick G. Slabach will be singing the national anthem. President Slabach promised to sing a cappella at Midnight Madness if the university reached its goal of raising $15,000 during North Texas Giving Day in September. The university surpassed this goal and raised more than $25,000 to support institutional scholarships.
Giveaways for fans include 300 T-shirts, rally towels and more, so mark your calendars and help the Rams and Lady Rams start their seasons right.
