8 a.m. - 12 p.m.: "Be Bold" Pledge
The Be Bold Pledge is an annual global campaign organized to celebrate "the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women". This year's theme is #Balance for better; to call for action in accelerating gender balance. You can learn more about this year's campaign here. Stop by the Student Engagement Suite between 8 a.m.-12 p.m. on March 7 and we will take a photo of your #BalanceforBetter pose on social media. Join us in this years call to action.
10 a.m. - 12 p.m.: Celebrate Her Cards
Words can carry a lot of weight and change someones day completely. This year we would like to invite the entire ramily to celebrate and share with the woman in your life a few words of appreciation. Stop by the Brown-Lupton lobby between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. to write your card.
12:15 - 1:15 p.m.: In Her Shoes Run
In an effort to spotlight this year's women's empowerment day; an In Her Shoes Run has been organized to raise awareness of very serious issues impacting many women including domestic violence and sexual assault. Several campus men have volunteered to run in dresses in an effort to bring attention to these issues. The race will begin at 12:15 p.m. in front of the campus Library.
3 - 5 p.m.: Tea Party
Attend this exclusive event to hear from powerful women in the workforce today while making wonderful, and lasting connections for your future. There will be 2 speakers with all different kinds of jobs and stories for how they got to where they are today. Space is limited.
