Texas Wesleyan junior- and senior-level students enrolled in Dr. Brenda Taylor Matthews' Introduction to Public History visited the Amon Carter Museum library and archives on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
Students heard from both Allen Townsend, librarian and Archivist Jonathan Frembling. Each talked about using the Carter's facilities for research and also spoke to students about their particular careers, encouraging students to consider history-related careers in museums and other research-oriented institutions.
Students were able to see several of the library's unique holdings, including John James Audubon’s 1861 chromolithograph edition of The Birds of America and an original document signed by Stephen F. Austin. They were also given a tour of the archives.
