This History Program at Texas Wesleyan University is pleased to announce four recipients of Pate funding for 2015-16.

Awards range from $1,000 to $4,000 per academic year. These merit-based scholarships are open to history majors with GPAs of at least 3.0.

Applicants were not only required to write essays summarizing their service and career goals, but each also submitted a past research paper or project demonstrating their academic acumen.

The four Pate Scholars for next year are Michael Andrew Carr, Everett Davis, Alexander Ellis and Alexander Sandles.

This scholarship was endowed by and named for the late Fort Worth businessman and philanthropist A. M. "Aggie" Pate. Mr. Pate was committed to encouraging research and scholarship and supported a number of institutions of higher learning.
