On Sept. 15, students in Dr. Brenda Matthew's Public History class visited the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth. There, they met archivist Jonathan Frembling, who displayed some important historical books and documents. Frembling also gave students a glimpse of potential career options related to history.
Texas Wesleyan's course in public history allows history majors to explore different methods used by historians in the field of public history, including archives, museums and oral history. It acquaints them with non-teaching career options available to those with degrees in history.
