For her leadership and commitment to developing students to their best potential, Kay Colley, Ph.D., chair of the Department of Mass Communications, was presented with the Engaging Educator Award on April 10.

School of Arts and Letters Interim Dean Dr. Gladys Childs nominated Colley for her work as department chair to increase hands-on experiences for students through internships and networking opportunities. That includes the annual crisis simulation event on campus where students learn how to report and develop communications in news, public relations and other formats during a crisis situation.

“Thank you, Dr. Colley, for everything you do to help our students live up to their full potential,” Frederick G. Slabach, President, said.
