The Engaging Educator Award goes to professors who go above and beyond to engage their students with research and the community.

For her work as a professor and mentor to Texas Wesleyan students, Michelle Payne, associate professor of political science, was honored with the Engaging Educator Award.

“Dr. Payne is a wonderful mentor at Texas Wesleyan,” said Frederick G. Slabach, president of Texas Wesleyan University. “She focuses on critical thinking and helping students prepare for professional school and careers.”

Payne is the first professor to be honored as an Engaging Educator Award twice. Watch above to see the moment she was honored on Facebook Live and follow Texas Wesleyan’s Facebook page to so you can see the next Engaging Educator be honored as it happens.
