Campus organizations make inaugural suicide prevention event a success

09.11.2014 | By: Texas Wesleyan University

World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) was a huge hit among students, faculty, and staff thanks to the many campus organizations that participated.

The Texas Wesleyan Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA), PSI CHI, Student Government Association (SGA), Criminal Justice Society, Sociology Club, Mortar Board and Lambda Theta Alpha each participated in the event by providing different ways to raise awareness for suicide prevention as well as local resources for those in need.

Based on the great success of this inaugural event, the GSA has decided to make this a campus tradition every year on Sept. 10 for WSPD.

For more information on how to get involved with the 2nd Annual WSPD in 2015, please contact Rudy Leonard at
