In a Q&A session with students last week, TXWES President Dr. Emily Messer reassured participants that the university would not deter from continuing to foster a community based on the core values of the RAMily: Connection, Commitment, Compassion and Courage.
Other topics discussed at the Plática y Pizza (Chat and Pizza) were the availability of scholarships or other financial aid for students, access to counseling in Spanish, the possibility of a move-in orientation for Spanish-speaking parents and ways in which students can help promote school spirit and support campus-wide participation in events that are offered throughout the year. The event was hosted by the Texas Wesleyan Hispanic/Latinx Committee and was moderated by the Bilingual Education Student Organization (BESO) President, Amy Cedillo.
