Mary Amber Boysen, president of the business honor society Beta Gamma Sigma, came up with the idea to sell mini mums at Texas Wesleyan’s first football homecoming game.
Boysen along with Stephanie Jean Varuska, Victoria Gallegos, Haidar Mohammad Almahrouq, Joy Smith and Thomas Franklin Lee teamed up and set up a booth at the homecoming game. In addition to selling mini mums, the students also sold water bottles and had a blue and gold hair spray station.
The idea was to fundraise while spreading school spirit with TXWES Ram fans.
Their fundraiser was a success. Many Ram fans, faculty and staff showed up to support the honor society, including School of Business Administration's Dean Hector Quintanilla and his wife.
Dr. Reed, co-sponsor of Beta Gamma Sigma, is excited with the innovative fundraiser her students came up with.
“We are really looking forward to doing this again at our home games and we are selling the mums at the school as well,” Reed said.
